Jen and Anthony started their business in May of 2004 by renting a commercial kitchen in downtown Los Gatos. In July of 2008, they relocated their business to downtown Willow Glen in San Jose, CA. The opening of their solo location has been an adventure both have enjoyed immensely. You may check out our showroom by making an appointment for a cake tasting and consultation.

All cakes are done to order. This just means it’s best to plan your cake in advance. Wedding cakes can be booked anywhere from 18 months to days before the date as long as the reception location is nailed down and we are available. Cupcake orders should be booked 7 days in advance.

The business is really named after the creator. Jen decorated her first cake for her older sister’s birthday in 1994. Later she went to the California Culinary Academy with the intention of becoming a caterer. The smelly nature of cooking turned her attention to a more pleasant aroma, desserts. Since her graduation from CCA, Jen has concentrated on cakes and tasty treats. Jen began by doing birthday cakes for Applebee’s in Gilroy where she worked as a waitress. She then went to work for a Bay Area bakery that concentrated on Wedding and other special occasion cakes. After the ownership at the bakery changed, she went on her own doing cakes for friends and family.

Jen has involved her husband Anthony in the business. Anthony, who was once the baker, is now the face of Jen’s Cakes. You will most likely meet with Anthony when you have your tasting. He is also the main communicator for Jen’s Cakes doing most of the finalizations and other forms of communication with our couples.

Jen has her hands in every aspect of the creation of your cake. She loves to create beautiful, fun and crazy designs for her customers. She likes to think she can do almost anything a client desires however knows her limitations and can help your dreams become reality.

Anthony and Jen also enjoy making mini desserts and you can place your order for these tiny creations as close as 10 days in advance.

Wedding Cakes can be booked as far as one year in advance. Because we are a small business, our weekends tend to fill up quickly. It is best to plan your cake tasting according to the season of your wedding. Remember the popular months of May – September and know that we can fill up as far as 18 months in advance. Special Occasion Cupcakes (i.e. birthday, anniversary, and showers) should be ordered 7 days in advance. Just like wedding cakes, we sometimes cannot take special occasion cupcake orders. The list that applies to our closed weekends for weddings, also applies to our special occasion cakes.

Miniature/Two-bite desserts should be ordered 10-14 days in advance.
